Barangaroo Central is the final part of Barangaroo to be defined. It will connect Millers Point to the harbor and will combine approximately 50% commercial development and cultural buildings and 50% recreational space.
Large turfed areas will allow for festivals and entertainment as well as arts, cultural, and educational opportunities. Barangaroo Central will have its own character while connecting to the identities of Barangaroo South and the Headland Park. The tree-lined promenade and boardwalk - the first approved design component - will be completed by 2015.
Community Driven Future
The site designated for Barangaroo Central already proves to be a community success based on the number of people currently attending events. The future design will accommodate community desires by providing a flexible landscaped area for casual use. It will include infrastructure for major public events and festivals, with added space for temporary market pavilions.
