Description
The Memorial Glade at the National September 11 Memorial honors the sacrifice of the rescue, recovery and relief community including sickness, diseases and deaths caused by toxins at the World Trade Center site. Despite unthinkable conditions, these heroic first responders showed incredible courage and selflessness in their efforts to rescue, recover and begin rebuilding. The Glade includes a pathway located roughly where the primary ramp used during the rescue and recovery effort once stood. Six granite monoliths, inlaid with steel from the World Trade Center, flank that path.
