William Benge

Will is a licensed landscape architect with experience designing and building landscape projects on a variety of scales and settings. He is passionate about cities, urbanism, and the design of public space. He especially appreciates the connections between the physical dimension and the social systems that comprise the urban environment. Prior to joining PWP, he worked in Washington, DC and throughout Texas on projects including academic and corporate campuses, public parks, roof gardens, streetscapes, residential towers and private gardens. Will received a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture with honors from Louisiana State University.

Laura Burnett, FASLA

For 30 years Laura Burnett has practiced planning and design of urban communities, parks, campuses, transit-oriented facilities, and regional open space networks where infrastructure, buildings, and landscape are a coordinated whole. She brings to her projects a strong commitment to the principles of stewardship and the cultural, functional, and aesthetic interface of human activity and natural systems. Awards for her design and leadership include the Caltrans Dist. 11 Headquarters, Torrey Pines City Park, City Park New Orleans, and the University of California. Currently Laura is on the advisory board of the Center for Creative Land Recycling and the California Urban Forests Council. Past service includes Urban Land Institute, San Diego Historical Resources, the ACE Mentor program, Colorado State University Design Review Board, and The Cultural Landscape Foundation. Laura has professional degrees from Colorado State University and Harvard Graduate School of Design. She is a fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects, an accredited professional of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and a licensed landscape architect.

Marta Gual

Marta has been practicing professionally in both Spain and California for three years. Prior to joining PWP, she worked as an Architect for Mateo Arquitectura in Barcelona, participating in mixed used projects and international competitions including Tete de Pont, Bayonne, Ilot T6C Tolbiac, Paris and Filmoteca de Catalunya, Barcelona. Marta sees landscape architecture as a means to positively influence ecosystems and tackle social issues through dynamic designs. She has been recognized for innovative design work as the recipient of both an ASLA Honor Award (2014) and First Place in the Thomas Church Design Competition at UC Berkeley (2014). Marta received a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Architecture from the Politecnic University of Catalonia. 

Maria Landoni

Originally from Argentina, Maria grew up alternating between Buenos Aires and the Patagonia. These contrasting landscapes fostered an appreciation for antithesis and opposite which became the groundwork for her career as a designer. She grew up with a love of plants and horticulture but has spent significant time as a planner and urban designer. In her landscape design, she studies the intersection of the natural and social histories of a place and uses that knowledge to inform site specific decisions. Maria has been awarded numerous awards including a National ASLA Honor Award in General Design in 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona and a Master of Landscape Architecture from U.C. Berkeley.

Eric Lees

Eric is a designer with 8 years of design experience with a focus in design/build project delivery. After working in New York City on municipal projects, he worked in Connecticut and Massachusetts designing and overseeing construction of high-end residential landscapes. His love for the outdoors has significantly influenced his career of creating landscape spaces for others to experience and enjoy. His knowledge of construction processes has enabled him to realize numerous landscape projects across New England. Eric received his Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Seth Rodewald-Bates

Seth is a licensed landscape architect with more than ten years of experience. He is equally adept at overseeing construction as he is resolving intricate design problems. Seth has worked on numerous campus, waterfront, urban, and mixed-used projects. His passion for minimalist design brought him to work at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, TX, a contemporary arts museum founded by Donald Judd. Seth received a B.S. in Horticulture, magna cum laude, from Stephen F. Austin State University and a M.L.A. from the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University. He has taught previously at Stephen F. Austin State University, Boston Architectural College, Louisiana State University, and Tulane University.

April Deerr

April is a member of the administrative staff with more than a decade of experience at the firm, working in a variety of administrative roles. She is responsible for payroll, accounts payable, and human resources. April received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley. 

Annette Flores

For eight years Annette has been working behind the scenes as the network systems administrator. She manages the network infrastructure and multiple IT projects while providing desktop support for the designers and staff at PWP. Before coming to PWP, Annette developed and supported mid-size networks and various technologies for a large client base, which prepared her for the multiple roles she fills at PWP. Annette received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento.

Jane Gillette

Jane keeps an archive of National 9/11 Memorial items and edits whatever comes across her desk. She received a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Vassar College and a doctorate in English Literature from Yale University. She writes short stories and teaches a graduate class in the Theory of Landscape Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley.

Amelia Starr

Amelia facilitates interactions between guests and members of staff and handles communications with vendors. She maintains the general upkeep of daily office functionality and assists with the organization and execution of office events. The PWP staff often and happily benefit from Amelia’s love of baking and planning theme parties. She acquired her Bachelor of Arts in History with Honors from the University of Michigan.
